Hello! I’m Joanne – an International T-Girl of Misfittery. Even I don’t know what that means so there is no point in asking me.
I guess you could call me a ‘chick with a dick’. You could, but you’d be pretty rude if you did and I doubt we would become friends. I’d prefer people to be more open-minded and accept that there’s more to life than black & white definitions.
As you may have gathered from the above, I’m not an average girl. And this blog is about my late-starting journey through life as a t-girl in a world that has a mostly binary perception of gender. It seems that many people are happy to accept a concept of bisexual (ie. neither exclusively heterosexual nor exclusively homosexual) but struggle to accept transgender; they cannot understand that some people are both (or neither) genders.
In my case, I am equally happy (or equally unhappy) in either gender, which some people call “gender fluid” or “genderqueer”. If I absolutely had to ‘make my mind up’ and choose one, though, it would be female. You can read more about that on a blog post I made on the subject.
Entries on my blog include fashion, personal musings, photos, comment on transgenderism, diary-style stuff and anything else I feel like posting. I hope that at least some is interesting and/or informative and makes you want to become a regular reader. Be sure to subscribe for updates!
I’m based in the UK, so my writing style and spelling are British English, so if you are from outside the UK you will have to forgive any idioms or spellings with which you are not familiar. If I post links to where you can buy something, they will generally be for UK sellers. But I’m sure that this should be enough to help you search for a similar supplier nearer to you.
Anyway, that’s about it. To misquote John Ebdon: “If you have been, thanks for reading.”
And watch out for Llamas!
